Content Analysis

Content Analysis evaluates whether a manuscript contains all the essential information components required for a complete and logically valid scientific argument.

Kirigami performs this evaluation through 15 predefined scientific questions. These questions were designed to verify whether the required knowledge is explicitly and sufficiently formulated, and whether it meets the standards of clarity and logical completeness.

When you upload a manuscript, Kirigami searches for the answers to these questions within your document.

Specifically, Kirigami:

  • Detects missing, vague, or logically incomplete elements
  • Flags redundancies and structural inconsistencies
  • Provides targeted and actionable revision guidance

Content Analysis does not rewrite the manuscript and does not introduce new scientific claims. It evaluates whether the author's own content forms a complete and logically valid scientific argument.

The output is a structured diagnostic report that makes implicit weaknesses visible and suggests concrete improvements.

Section Analysis

Section Analysis evaluates whether each individual section of your manuscript respects its narrative arc and is structured according to scientific best-practice guidelines.

While Content Analysis verifies whether all essential information components are present in the manuscript as a whole, Section Analysis examines how that information is organized, sequenced, and developed within each section.

Each section is evaluated at two complementary levels:

Overall Section

At this level, Kirigami analyzes the section as a complete narrative block.

It evaluates whether the section:

  • Fulfills its specific scientific function (e.g., does the Introduction clearly establish the research question?)
  • Maintains internal logical progression
  • Develops ideas in a coherent and disciplined sequence
  • Avoids unnecessary digressions or redundancy
  • Achieves structural completeness

This level provides a global assessment of the section's effectiveness and highlights structural weaknesses that affect clarity, readability, and scientific rigor.

Detailed Analysis

Each section contains mandatory knowledge units, discrete components required for the section to fulfill its scientific function.

Kirigami isolates and evaluates each knowledge unit individually. For every unit, it determines:

  • Whether it is present
  • Whether it is explicitly formulated
  • Whether it fulfills its structural and scientific requirements

This granular evaluation enables precise and targeted revision.

Coherence Analysis

The Coherence Analysis evaluates the narrative and structural coherence of the manuscript as a whole.

A scientific article is more than a collection of independent sections.

The knowledge units distributed across those sections must remain logically aligned.

Kirigami examines whether these distributed components are conceptually and structurally consistent throughout the manuscript, flagging the presence of:

  • Logical discontinuities
  • Misalignments between segments of different sections
  • Conceptual drift
  • Contradictions or unsupported claims

This analysis ensures that the manuscript forms a logically unified scientific argument rather than a sequence of loosely connected parts.
